GasLog Shanghai LNG Vessel Exits Strait of Hormuz After Incident

A Greek shipping company's liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel, Gaslog Shanghai, has been involved in an incident while exiting the Strait of Hormuz. The ship was on its way out of the waterway after loading LNG cargo at Qatar's Ras Laffan export terminal on July 27-28.

The incident occurred on July 31, and according to ship-tracking data from Kepler and LSEG, the vessel reappeared outside the Strait of Hormuz on August 2. The Gaslog Shanghai is currently off Oman's Musandam Peninsula, just outside the entrance to the waterway.

GasLog LNG Services immediately activated their emergency plan after the incident, notified all relevant authorities, and are assessing the condition of the vessel. The company assured the safety of its people, with everyone on board safe and accounted for.
