Gastech 2026 Highlights Global Gas Industry Investment Opportunities
The Gastech 2026 international conference in Bangkok has highlighted investment opportunities in the global gas industry. The event, which runs from September 14 to 17, brings together around 50,000 energy sector professionals and representatives from over 150 countries.
Key topics at the conference include investment, infrastructure, natural gas, and LNG, as well as artificial intelligence and energy technologies. Valérie Ducroix, executive director of the Global Gas Centre, emphasized the importance of creating clear and stable conditions for energy projects to attract investors.
According to Joseph Murphy of Petroleum Economist, there is a renewed interest in long-term gas supply agreements due to market volatility. Buyers are seeking greater predictability in physical supplies and prices, while producers need commercial certainty to develop capital-intensive projects.
Turkmenistan's investment agenda was also highlighted at the conference. The country plans to develop its Galkynysh gas field through a major infrastructure project that involves drilling production wells and creating new gas processing facilities.
