Gate LNG Terminal Expands Capacity to 20 Billion Cubic Meters
The Gate LNG terminal on Rotterdam's Maasvlakte has completed its three-year expansion project, adding a fourth storage tank to boost its total capacity to 20 billion cubic meters per year.
The new tank, with a storage capacity of 180,000 cubic meters of LNG, was built by shareholders Gasunie and Vopak as part of their efforts to strengthen energy security across Northwest Europe.
Jarmo Stoopman, Managing Director at Gate terminal, said the expansion will help diversify the continent's energy supply and enhance security of supply: 'Gate is expanding its capacity and strengthening its role as a strategic gateway for the energy supply of the Netherlands and Northwest Europe.'
