Russian energy giant Gazprom Export has increased the purchase price of natural gas for Bosnian energy company Energoinvest. The new price is a 14.42 percent increase from the previous quarter, with a cost of 0.99019 KM per standard cubic meter of gas.

The price hike was announced by Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić, who stated that the price is determined by the seller and cannot be influenced by Energoinvest. This has raised concerns about the security of energy supply in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lakić emphasized that this situation highlights the need for alternative gas sources and directions to reduce dependence on a single supplier. He also noted that this is not just an energy issue, but also a matter of national security.
