Gem State Gas Prices Surge Amid Global Tensions
Idahoans are facing another week of rising gas prices, with the Gem State's average cost at $4.57 per gallon, according to AAA of Idaho.
Twin Falls and Boise have the highest average prices, at $4.59 and $4.56 per gallon respectively, while Franklin has the lowest at $4.38 per gallon.
The national average sits at $4.08 per gallon, which is two cents less than a month ago but 90 cents more than a year ago.
Crude oil prices are being driven up by tensions in the Middle East and currently sit around $85 per barrel, the same as a month ago but $20 more than last year.
'Some folks are doing serious budget gymnastics to make ends meet,' said Matthew Conde of AAA Idaho. 'Hopefully, there are calmer days and lower prices on the way this fall.'
