Geopolitics Sends Gold Prices Ticking Upward Amid Global Tensions
Gold prices held steady at around $4,360 as geopolitical tensions rose globally. The Ukraine-Russia conflict intensified after an overnight drone and missile attack on Moscow and surrounding areas.
The Middle East also saw a surge in hostilities with Yemen's Houthi rebels launching attacks on sensitive sites in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh.
Despite the increased risk sentiment, gold prices remained relatively flat, trading within a range of $4,288 to $4,432. Analysts predict a 72% chance of an upward move, but muted price action and low volatility may lead to continued sideways consolidation.
