Georgia Farmers Face Increasing Costs Amid Decreasing Prices
Economist Dr. Stanley Fletcher presented findings on Georgia farms' financial operations to the Joint Committee on the Generational Sustainability of Family Farms.
Fletcher's survey, which has been ongoing for 25 years, focused on peanuts, cotton, and corn.
He found that peanut expenditures have increased by 60% since 2013, while prices have decreased by 3.6% in the same period.
Cotton cash flow cost has increased by 53% from 2013 to 2026, while prices have decreased by 3.7%
