Georgia Gas Prices Climb Amid Ongoing Global Uncertainty
Georgia drivers are facing higher gas prices once again, with the statewide average for regular gasoline reaching $3.79 per gallon. This is a significant increase from last year's prices, which were around $2.91 per gallon. The rise in gas prices can be attributed to higher crude oil costs and uncertainty surrounding the war in the Middle East.
According to AAA, the national average for regular gasoline has also climbed to $4.06 per gallon, a 5-cent increase from last week. Gasoline demand has softened, but higher oil costs continue to keep pump prices elevated.
In Georgia, the least expensive metro markets are Catoosa-Dade-Walker at $3.67 per gallon, Rome at $3.70, and Albany at $3.73. Atlanta has the highest average among Georgia metro markets at $3.83 per gallon, followed by Hinesville-Fort Stewart at $3.82 and Gainesville at $3.78.
