Georgia Gas Prices Hit $4.19 Amid Crude Oil Volatility
Gas prices in Georgia continue to rise, with the state average reaching $4.19 per gallon on September 28, according to AAA. This is a 10-cent increase from the previous week and a $1.31 jump from last year's prices.
The statewide price remains about 30 cents below Georgia's record high of $4.49 set in June 2022. Filling a 15-gallon tank costs around $62.85 at this average price.
AAA reported that the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cobb County was $4.22, three cents more than the statewide average.
The Atlanta metro area averaged $4.24 a gallon on Monday, while nationally, regular gasoline averaged $4.48 per gallon. AAA attributed the continued high prices to expensive crude oil and volatility involving the Strait of Hormuz.
