Ghalibaf Denies US Moved 130M Oil Barrels Through Hormuz

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf denied that the United States had moved 130 million barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 14 days. The claim was made in response to a statement from White House adviser Stephen Miller, who said the strait was open to the US and that Iran had exported no oil directly from its shores since Washington resumed its naval blockade last month.

Ghalibaf's denial contradicts the White House's account, which stated that nearly 1,500 commercial vessels carrying about 750 million barrels of crude oil had crossed the strait under US protection in recent months. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy also disputed Washington's claim, saying Tehran retained 'full control' over Hormuz and would maintain restrictions on unauthorized shipping until the US met Iran's conditions.
