Ghalibaf Threatens Regional Nations Over Iran's Oil Exports

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, has issued a stark warning to regional nations: if Iran's oil exports are halted, no one will be able to sell oil and their infrastructure will not remain secure.

Addressing a virtual plenary session on September 29, 2026, Ghalibaf stated that both the Americans and other countries should know that in a region where Iran cannot sell oil, 'no one will sell oil.'

This warning comes as Islamic Republic officials have repeatedly threatened neighboring countries with attacks or disruptions to their oil exports and aviation networks if they cooperate with the United States.

The surge in oil exports from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the UAE via the Strait of Hormuz and alternative bypass routes has diminished Tehran's ability to leverage energy flows against Washington and regional neighbors.
