Ghalibaf Warns US, Gulf Nations: No Oil Sales Without Iranian Security
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned Washington and its allies in the Gulf that 'no infrastructure will be safe' if Tehran's security is not guaranteed. This came amidst uncertainty over a new Iranian proposal sent to the US on ending the war.
Ghalibaf referred to recent statements made by US President Donald Trump, who had posted a map of the Strait of Hormuz and renamed it the 'Trump Strait'. Ghalibaf stated that 'the truth of these delusional positions is known to everyone.'
In a stern warning, Ghalibaf said that if Iran's security is not ensured, 'no one in the region will sell oil', implying that other countries rely on Iran for oil sales. He also drew parallels with the siege of Abadan, which was broken within 48 hours in 1980, and stated that similar planning and management would thwart current US efforts to impose a naval blockade.
Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran would not be intimidated by threats and warned that any aggression or adventurism would receive 'a tough, regretful, precise, and swift response' from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
