The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) has been tasked with leading Ghana's efforts to expand oil palm production, with the government aiming to develop 100,000 new hectares by 2026.

This initiative is designed to boost domestic palm oil production, reduce the country's reliance on imported edible oils, and position Ghana as a competitive player in the global market.

According to Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, CEO of TCDA, sustainability and environmental responsibility will be central to the expansion process, ensuring that agricultural growth does not come at the cost of deforestation.
