Giustra Forecasts Larger Copper Cycle as Mocoa Project Advances
Retail investors tracking copper and gold equities are paying close attention to developments at Copper Giant Resources Corp. (CGNT:TSXV; CGNRF:OTCQX; 29H0:FSE) and its Mocoa copper-molybdenum project in Putumayo, Colombia.
The updated narrative begins with the scale of the resource itself. Copper Giant reports an Inferred Mineral Resource of 1.12 billion tonnes grading 0.51% copper equivalent, containing approximately 7.7 billion pounds of copper and 1.0 billion pounds of molybdenum.
Frank Giustra's recent comments have placed fresh focus on the asset and its potential role in a tightening copper market. According to him, geopolitical tensions, rising defense budgets, and critical-mineral security efforts are converging with structural supply challenges in copper.
Copper Giant is advancing the Mocoa project and is executing a 2026 exploration program of approximately 23,000 meters of drilling. The company has identified 17 ranked target areas within an 81-square-kilometer study area, including 13 targets outside the current resource footprint.
