Giustra sees gold rally room as retail investors stay out
Frank Giustra, a seasoned mining financier, shared his insights at the recent Precious Metals Summit in Colorado. He noted that ordinary investors have largely stayed away from gold’s recent rally, which could pave the way for further gains. Central banks, however, have been consistent buyers, driven by a growing desire to reduce dependence on the U.S. dollar.
Giustra, founder and CEO of the Fiore Group, emphasized that retail participation in the gold market remains limited. In an interview with The Northern Miner, he described gold as a 'hedge against all human stupidity.' He suggested that a major geopolitical or financial shock could spark the next significant rally in gold prices.
The veteran financier also discussed copper, predicting a price spike before new mine supply can meet demand. He highlighted his involvement with Copper Giant Resources (TSXV: CGNT; US-OTC: CGNRF), where he holds a major stake.
