Gas prices in Glendale have surpassed $4 per gallon for the first time, increasing by 12 cents to $4.49 per gallon this week, according to AAA Arizona on Friday.

This marks a significant jump from two weeks ago when gas prices were at $3.37 per gallon, demonstrating the rapid escalation of fuel costs in the area.

Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, offered some relief that August may bring lower prices as road trips wind down and families settle into their fall routines, but warned that elevated crude oil prices could hinder this seasonal shift.
