Global Gold Price Edges Up Above $4610 as Domestic Prices Remain Steady in Vietnam
The gold market on August 24th, 2026, started the new week in an unusual state. Global prices edged up above $4,610 per ounce after a strong surge last weekend, reaching as high as $4,631.99 per ounce and ending the week with more than a 5% increase.
Domestic gold prices remained unchanged compared to August 23rd for SJC, DOJI, PNJ, BTMC, and Phu Quy. However, the price of SJC gold has increased by 4.9 million VND/ounce since August 20th, reaching 147.6 million VND/ounce.
The world gold price is approximately 146.3 million VND per tael (approximately 37.8 grams), which is about 100% higher than the converted price of global gold at $4,611.93 per ounce, according to the USD/VND exchange rate.
