Global gold prices took a turn for the worse on October 1, dropping to $4,156.1 per ounce. This decline had a ripple effect in the domestic market, with SJC gold bars and rings seeing their prices fall in line with global trends. The price of SJC gold bars dipped to VND 143.8 million per tael, while that of SJC gold rings fell to VND 143.3 million per tael.

The decline in gold prices comes after a period of fluctuations in the market. Just a day before, on September 30, global gold prices had recovered from their sharp drop, standing at $4,165.1 per ounce. However, this upward momentum was short-lived, and prices took a downturn on October 1.

The VN-Index also saw some volatility in the market, with a 0.51% decline on September 30. Despite this, gold prices remained steady on September 22, following a sharp decline earlier in the month.
