Global LNG Imports Plummet Amid Middle East Conflict
The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) reported that global LNG imports declined significantly by 8.8 percent year-on-year to 34.29 Mt in August, as the ongoing Middle East conflict continued to constrain global LNG trade.
The GECF stated that the Middle East conflict has been a major factor in disrupting global LNG trade, and this decline is likely a result of it.
Meanwhile, US gas producer Comstock and Azerbaijan's energy firm Socar have inked a framework agreement worth $1.65 billion for Socar to invest in Comstock's Haynesville shale assets with access to US Gulf Coast LNG facilities.
