Global Markets on Mixed Note Amid Weakening Oil Prices
The global markets are trading on a mixed note, with Asian markets opening in the red. The Brent Crude price is hovering around $87 per barrel, below the psychologically important level of $90.
The GIFT Nifty index is indicating a subdued start for Indian markets, down 55 points or 0.23%. This follows the trend seen in global markets, where US futures are trading higher on Thursday morning.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed 169 points, or 0.32%, while the S&P 500 futures advanced 0.38%. The Nasdaq 184 futures jumped 0.63%.
In India, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers of shares worth Rs 502.63 crore on August 26. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were also net buyers, with purchases worth Rs 6,425.16 crore in the same period.
