Global Oil Prices Reach Four-Year High Amid US-Iran Tensions
Oil prices have surged to their highest level in four years, reaching $126 per barrel for Brent futures on Thursday before dipping to $114.
This significant increase is attributed to ongoing negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, which have shown little sign of resolving a historic energy crisis.
As a result, analysts predict that gas prices will continue to rise over the coming days, potentially reaching as high as $4.50 per gallon by next week, according to Patrick De Haan, a petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.
The increase in oil prices is also expected to push up diesel fuel costs, which could lead to higher transportation and commodity prices for consumers.
