Gold and Silver Prices at a Turning Point: Leveraged DLCs Offer New Options

Gold and silver prices have retreated from their recent highs, sparking different views on what comes next. Some investors see an opportunity to buy the dip, while others expect further weakness or short-term price movements.

The traditional safe-haven status of gold remains relevant, with continued buying by central banks providing demand in recent years. However, gold prices remain sensitive to changes in interest rates and the US dollar, contributing to short-term volatility.

Societe Generale's newly listed Gold and Silver Daily Leverage Certificates (DLCs) provide another option for investors seeking tactical, short-term exposure. These products allow investors to gain leveraged and inverse exposure to the daily performance of an underlying asset.

The DLCs reference the performance of the SPDR Gold Shares ETF (GLD) and the iShares Silver Trust (SLV) on a US market close-to-close basis, with leverage resetting daily. They are listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and trade in Singapore dollars during SGX market hours.
