Gold and Silver Prices Drop as Market Fluctuations Bite

The price of gold and silver declined on September 11, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The value of 10 grams of 24-carat gold dropped by ₹269 to approximately ₹1.53 lakh. Silver prices also fell, decreasing by ₹3,742 per kg to nearly ₹2.30 lakh.

Gold prices have been volatile throughout the year, with a gain of around ₹20,000 so far in 2026. On December 31, 2025, gold was priced at approximately ₹1.33 lakh for 10 grams, compared to its current price of nearly ₹1.53 lakh.

Silver has also seen minimal change over the year, with its price remaining near ₹2.30 lakh per kg since December 31, 2025. Both metals reached record highs earlier this year, with gold reaching an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh per 10 grams on January 29 and silver surging to ₹3.86 lakh per kg.
