Gold and silver prices in India remained steady on Tuesday, 13 October, as investors awaited key US inflation data to gauge the Federal Reserve’s next moves. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued a warning that bond yields could experience a ‘disorderly’ spike due to rising inflation, increasing debt, geopolitical tensions, and AI-driven borrowing pressures.
Internationally, gold prices dipped slightly after reaching a one-week high on Monday. Spot gold fell 0.6% to $4,170.62 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery dropped 0.5% to $4,195.10 per ounce. The decline was attributed to a stronger dollar and higher oil prices. Investors are closely watching remarks from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh and upcoming inflation data to assess future monetary policy directions.
In the domestic market, both 24K and 22K gold rates were trading flat across major Indian cities. MCX gold futures rose marginally by 0.11% to ₹1,49,930 per 10 grams, while MCX silver futures climbed 0.16% to ₹2,23,640 per kg. The ongoing Middle East conflict and the Russia-Ukraine war have contributed to geopolitical uncertainty, impacting commodity prices.
Over the past year, 24K gold prices in Delhi have surged 20.78%, rising from ₹1,27,460 on 13 October 2025 to ₹1,51,640 on 12 October 2026. The latest 24K gold prices across major cities were: Delhi (₹1,51,640), Mumbai (₹1,52,145), Bengaluru (₹1,52,380), Kolkata (₹1,51,800), Hyderabad (₹1,52,150), and Chennai (₹1,52,210).
