Gold and Silver Prices Plummet in Futures Trade Amid Spot Demand Woes
On August 31st, gold prices dropped in futures trade on the Multi Commodity Exchange. The yellow metal contracts for October delivery fell by Rs 2,045, or 1.31 per cent, to Rs 1,54,236 per 10 grams. This decline occurred amidst a decrease in spot demand.
The business turnover for gold was 2,680 lots. In contrast, silver contracts for December delivery declined by Rs 1,955, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 2,40,489 per kg with a business turnover of 2,004 lots.
