The prices of gold and silver have increased this week according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold has risen by ₹2,622 to ₹1.44 lakh. Silver, on the other hand, has seen an increase from ₹2.15 lakh per kg to ₹2.23 lakh with a rise of ₹7,247.

This year's fluctuations have made gold ₹12,000 more expensive so far in 2026 compared to December 31, 2025. Meanwhile, silver's price has fallen by ₹7,000 rupees during the same period.

Commodity expert Ajay Kedia believes that gold and silver prices have dropped significantly from their highs, making it a good time for investors to invest. However, he cautions against lump-sum investments. According to Kedia, gold may reach ₹1.60 lakh by the end of the year, while silver could touch ₹2.80 lakh.
