Gold and Silver Prices Surge on Sustained Demand in Indian Futures Market
Gold and silver prices have increased in India's domestic futures market due to sustained demand. The gold future contract that expires on October 5 reached a high of Rs 1,49,724 per 10 grams, up from its last closing price of Rs 1,48,858 on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). This represents an increase of over Rs 860.
Similarly, silver futures for September 4 expiry climbed to a high of Rs 2,28,700 per kilogram, up from its previous closing price of Rs 2,25,836. At the time of writing, MCX Gold was trading at Rs 1,49,670, while MCX Silver was quoted at Rs 2,28,350.
