The price of gold and silver continues to be closely watched by investors and consumers in India on September 23. As the festive and wedding season approaches, demand for gold is expected to increase. The latest city-wise figures show varying prices across major cities due to factors such as local taxes, transportation costs, and market conditions.

The rates differ significantly from one city to another. For instance, in Delhi, 22K gold is priced at Rs 1,40,240 per 10g, while 24K gold costs Rs 1,52,980 per 10g. Silver prices are also different, with a kilogram of silver costing Rs 2,44,900 in Delhi and Rs 2,49,900 in Chennai.

Jewellery buyers should note that the quoted gold rate is not the final purchase price. Making charges, wastage charges, GST, and other applicable costs can increase the amount paid at the jewellery counter. Buyers are advised to ask jewellers for a complete price breakup before completing a transaction.
