Gold Bounces Back with 1.58% Gain, Ends Two-Day Losing Streak
Gold futures rose 1.58% on Thursday to close at $4,100.10 per troy ounce, ending a two-session losing streak. The advance marked the largest single-day increase since July 22 and was the highest settlement price since that date.
The gain brought gold's year-to-date rise to 24.50%, but it remains 22.91% below its 52-week high of $5,318.40 set on January 29. The metal has climbed 2.87% above its 2026 settlement low of $3,985.60 from July 16.
Gold's price increase was a relief for investors after two consecutive days of declines. However, the precious metal still has a long way to go to reach its all-time record settlement price of $5,318.40 set on January 29.
