Gold Breakout Consolidates, Analysts See More Upside

Gold's breakout above $4,200 has been consolidating in recent days, but analysts believe it may have more to run.

The metal's rise can be attributed to a combination of factors, including central bank demand, dollar weakness, and improving momentum.

A World Gold Council report showed that central bank gold demand had picked up sharply in the June quarter, with reserve managers indicating they expect banks to continue adding to their holdings.

Despite elevated real yields, which historically would have been expected to weigh on gold prices, the metal has continued to rally, suggesting other factors are driving its growth.
