Gold Climbs 0.3% as Weakening Dollar Boosts Prices
Gold prices edged higher on Tuesday as the US dollar weakened, ahead of the release of US inflation data that could influence the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move.
The spot price of gold rose by 0.3% to $4,418.79 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery fell 0.3% to $4,464.80.
The dollar index declined by 0.3%, making dollar-denominated metals less expensive for buyers holding other currencies.
