Gold Demand Hits Record High with 2% Increase in First Half

Global gold demand has reached a record high this year, rising by 2% to 2,522 tonnes in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year. The World Gold Council reported that total global gold demand remained unchanged at 1,269 tonnes in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.

The value of gold demand rose to a record high of USD 380 billion. This increase is attributed to the growing popularity of gold as an investment option and its use in various industries such as jewelry and technology.
