Gold Edges Higher Amid Lower Oil Prices and Subdued Dollar
Gold prices rose slightly on Friday as lower oil prices and a subdued US dollar provided support. Spot gold was up 0.3% at $4,352.60 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery were down 0.2% at $4,391.60.
The Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates on Wednesday weighed on demand for gold, but Goldman Sachs maintained its end-2027 price forecast of $5,400 per troy ounce. The bank expects tighter policy to slow the metal's rally but not derail it.
Meanwhile, other precious metals also saw gains: spot silver rose 0.7% to $65.64 per ounce, platinum gained 0.9% to $1,785.55, and palladium added 0.1% at $1,292.47.
