Gold Edges Higher as Oil Rebounds, Silver Falls Below $61
The price of gold edged higher on Wednesday to $4,186.15 an ounce, a 0.13% increase from Tuesday's rebound, despite elevated Treasury yields keeping gains in check.
Silver, however, fell 0.78% to $60.97, slipping below the $61 level it had briefly reclaimed the day before.
The divergence between gold and silver prices comes as oil prices reversed course, with WTI crude rising 2.13% to $91.28 a barrel, while Brent climbed 0.86% to $103.47.
The increase in oil prices adds to the pressure on bullion this week, with Treasury yields remaining the dominant headwind.
