Gold Edges Higher as Trump Eases Iran Concerns
Gold prices rose on Monday as oil prices fell following US President Donald Trump's decision to hold off on fresh attacks on Iran, easing concerns over inflation and higher interest rates.
The spot price of gold increased by 0.7 percent to $4,068.54 per ounce as of 04:37 GMT, while US gold futures rose by 0.9 percent to $4,066.60.
Other precious metals also saw gains, with silver up 1.4 percent to $58.46, platinum climbing 0.5 percent to $1,650.63, and palladium firming 1.6 percent to $1,293.50.
