Gold Edges Higher on Lower Oil Prices and Subdued Dollar
Gold prices inched higher on Friday as lower oil prices and a subdued US dollar provided support to the market. The spot gold price rose by 0.3% to $4,355.05 per ounce at 0423 GMT.
The US gold futures were down 0.1% at $4,394.10, but this was not enough to offset the gains in the spot price.
Market participants are keeping a close eye on developments in the Middle East and the outlook for global monetary policy, which is expected to influence market sentiment in the coming days.
