Gold Fails to Break Downtrend Despite Lower Swing Highs
The spot gold price has been trending downward in recent times, and its rallies are facing significant resistance as it tries to break through the downtrend. According to FXEmpire, this trend structure means that any upward movements may be less reliable and sustainable.
A key level for gold's recovery is $4,219, which served as a lower swing high on Wednesday. If gold can reclaim this level, it would set off a bullish signal in the very short-term, indicating a reversal of the downtrend.
The $4,316 area is also crucial, as it converges with several indicators, including the 20-day and 50-day moving averages, and a downtrend line. If gold can sustainably reclaim these moving averages, now near $4,300 and $4,325 respectively, it would be a sign of strength that may be sustainable.
