Gold Falls Amid Fed's Aggressive Rate Hike Stance
The Federal Reserve's interest rate decision has weighed heavily on gold prices, with the precious metal experiencing three consecutive losing sessions and a decline of nearly 2.3%.
The Fed raised interest rates to 4.00%, up from the previous 3.75% benchmark rate, in line with market expectations.
However, Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh emphasized that inflation remains too high and persistent, noting that recent economic data has failed to show a clear and sustained slowdown.
This shift in Fed policy is making gold less appealing as investors increasingly price in a more aggressive Federal Reserve over the coming months.
