Gold prices edged up on Tuesday but remained near a seven-week low due to concerns about interest rates. According to Reuters, spot gold rose by 0.4% to $4,130.58 per ounce at 04:07 GMT. This increase came after gold hit its lowest level since August 5 in the previous session.

US gold futures, on the other hand, fell by 0.2% to $4,162.20. Other precious metals also declined in value, with spot silver dropping 0.9% to $60.42, platinum decreasing by 1.3% to $1,697.71, and palladium declining by 0.8% to $1,205.27.

The Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates high for longer has contributed to the decline in gold prices. Investors are waiting for a raft of US economic data, which may further influence market trends.
