Gold Futures Consolidate Above Support with $4,685 as Breakout Target
Gold futures have consolidated above support levels, with a key decision point at $4,476. This level is the VC PMI daily mean, and holding above it could favor renewed upside tests. On the other hand, a sustained trade below this level would shift momentum towards corrective support.
The first bullish objectives are Daily Sell 1 at $4,539 and Weekly Sell 1 at $4,581. A close above $4,581 would strengthen the breakout structure and expose Daily Sell 2 at $4,602, followed by Weekly Sell 2 at $4,685.
Cycle analysis suggests that short-term timing windows fall around September 8-10, September 15-17, and September 22-24. These dates represent approximately seven-, fourteen-, and twenty-one-day turns from the low. Square of 9 geometry reinforces the technical map, with rotational projections clustering near $4,395, $4,428, $4,462, $4,495, $4,528, $4,562, and $4,598.
Fundamentally, stronger August US data has lifted expectations for a September Federal Reserve rate hike, which has pressured gold. However, central-bank diversification, geopolitical uncertainty, and physical demand remain constructive long-term supports.
