Gold Futures Dip on Bursa Malaysia Despite COMEX Gains
Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives experienced a decline on Monday, despite an upward trend in gold prices on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX). The October 2026 contract dropped to US$4,178.40 per troy ounce from its previous close of US$4,216.10, while the November 2026 contract fell to US$4,195.40 from US$4,232.80.
The December 2026 contract also saw a decrease, settling at US$4,212.00 per troy ounce from its earlier price of US$4,232.80. Similarly, the January 2027, February 2027, and April 2027 contracts all declined to US$4,212.00 from US$4,232.80.
Trading volume increased to 161 lots from 144 on Friday, and open interest rose to 228 contracts from 212 previously. Meanwhile, physical gold was fixed at US$4,190.05 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on October 2.
