Gold Futures Outlook Turns Bearish Amid Weakening Price Action
The outlook for gold futures is currently bearish, according to technical analysis. The daily chart shows that gold prices are below their moving averages, which could lead to a further decline. The daily buy zone remains in focus, but it would take a sustained recovery above both the daily and weekly means to improve the outlook.
The VC PMI levels indicate that a move below $4,289 would bring the 4,258-4,259 support clusters into view, while holding above $4,352 could lead to a test of $4,384. The first buy and sell levels have a stated 90% mean reversion tendency, while the second levels have a stated 95% tendency.
From a fundamental perspective, higher yields and a firmer US dollar could pressure gold prices, but inflation concerns and geopolitical uncertainty can support demand. As such, market participants should keep an eye on yields, the dollar, and incoming inflation data alongside technical levels.
The Square of Nine calculation also indicates that September 28-30 may be a possible turn window, followed by October 27-29 and November 26-28 at 30 and 60-day intervals from September 28. However, these dates are timing hypotheses, not confirmed turns.
