Gold Futures Rise Amid Spot Demand, Hits Rs 1.63 Lakh Per 10 Grams

Gold prices surged on Monday in futures trade, led by fresh positions built up by participants. The precious metal's price rose to Rs 1.63 lakh per 10 grams after a spot demand increase.

The Multi Commodity Exchange saw the yellow metal contracts for October delivery trading higher by Rs 1,283, or 0.79 percent, at Rs 1,63,721 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 3,424 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise to fresh positions built up by participants, which led to an increase in precious metal prices.
