Markets Edge Down Ahead of Iran Sanctions Announcement

Asian markets slipped on Monday as investors awaited US details of threatened sanctions on Iran due later in the session. Oil prices also eased ahead of the announcement, with Brent slipping 1.4% to $93.07 and US crude easing 1.6% to $85.64 a barrel.

The Canadian dollar dipped as a trade war loomed with its southern neighbor, losing 0.2% against the US dollar after Prime Minister Mark Carney said his country would respond to US tariffs with levies of its own.

Nvidia's quarterly revenue is expected to almost double to around $92 billion, but analysts are warning that meeting such high expectations will be a challenge for the chipmaker.
