Gold Futures Rise, Silver Prices Jump Amid Firm Global Trend

Gold futures on Wednesday rose by Rs 115 to Rs 1.62 lakh per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.

The yellow metal contract for October delivery traded higher by Rs 115, or 0.07 percent, at Rs 1,62,997 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 674 lots on the Multi Commodity Exchange.

Fresh positions built up by market participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said.

Silver prices also rose 0.53 percent to Rs 2.45 lakh per kg in the futures trade amid a firm global trend.

The white metal for September delivery increased by Rs 1,284, or 0.53 percent, to Rs 2,45,411 per kilogram in a business turnover of 1,093 lots on the Multi Commodity Exchange.
