Gold prices in India have risen to Rs 1.59 lakh per 10 grams for the seventh consecutive session, increasing by Rs 2,600 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1.57,200 per 10 grams.

This surge is attributed to firm global trends and strong bullion demand, with investors opting for safe-haven buying ahead of the US inflation data.

According to Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemonn Markets Desk, persistent geopolitical tensions in West Asia have also contributed to the increased demand for precious metals.
