Gold Price in Vietnam Fluctuates Amidst Global Market Uncertainty
The gold price update for September 21st showed significant fluctuations in Vietnam. As of 6:00 AM, Saigon SJC Jewelry Company listed the price of gold rings at 144.1 - 147.1 million VND/tael (buying - selling), with a buying-selling difference of 3 million VND/tael. DOJI Group and Phu Quy Gold and Gems Group also reported similar prices, ranging from 144-148 million VND/tael for gold rings.
The SJC gold bar price was listed at the threshold of 144.6-147.6 million VND/tael (buying - selling), with a buying-selling difference of 3 million VND/tael across all three companies. DOJI and Phu Quy also reported this price range for SJC gold bars.
The jewelry gold price was unchanged compared to the previous closing session, listed at 142-146 million VND/tael (buying - selling) by DOJI and 141.5-146.5 million VND/tael (buying - selling) by Phu Quy. The world gold price was listed at the threshold of 4,377 USD/ounce.
Goldman Sachs' gold price targets have changed significantly in the past year, reflecting a period of strong fluctuations in both gold prices and Fed monetary policy. As early as October 2025, the bank set a gold price target for the fourth quarter of 2026 based on expectations that the Fed will implement three more waves of interest rate cuts in the early 2026 period.
The development in world oil prices, US bond yields, and the USD will be early indicators of whether gold is preparing to enter a new rally or is just recovering after a strong sell-off at the beginning of the week. Goldman Sachs lowered its short-term forecast for 2026 but maintained its long-term target for 2027, expecting gold holdings of Western ETFs to increase as the Fed eases policy.
