Gold Price Plunges Below $4,300 Amid Rising Yields and Stronger Dollar

The gold price took a sharp drop on September 2nd, falling below the $4,300 per ounce mark. According to Laodong.vn, the world gold price was listed around $4,330.1 per ounce at 6:12 AM, down by $115.3 from the previous day.

The decline in gold prices can be attributed to several factors, including rising US bond yields and a recovering USD. Additionally, expectations of a continued tough monetary stance by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) have increased the opportunity cost of holding precious metals, promoting selling activities in the market.

Oil price increases are also putting pressure on inflation prospects, with Brent oil approaching $95 per barrel and WTI oil surpassing $90 per barrel. Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and disruptions to oil transportation routes through the Strait of Hormuz continue to be unpredictable factors.

The market's focus will shift to upcoming data releases, including the private sector employment report, unemployment claims, service sector data, and the August non-farm payroll report. A stronger-than-expected labor market may keep bond yields high and put more pressure on gold, while a weaker-than-expected payroll could create conditions for a recovery.
