Gold Price Rebound: Dollar Weakness and Geopolitics Drive 1.27% Spike
Gold prices surged globally by 1.27% as the US dollar and Treasury yields fell. In Delhi, gold prices rose sharply by ₹3,400 to reach ₹1.59 lakh per 10 grams after falling for six consecutive sessions.
The increase was driven by strong trends in international markets and geopolitical tensions, which supported safe-haven demand. Declining US Treasury yields also contributed to the rise in gold prices.
Gaurav Garg, head of research at Lemon, noted that US Treasury yields had eased from recent highs. Saumil Gandhi, senior commodity analyst at HDFC Securities, attributed the surge to gold's sensitivity to changes in US monetary policy expectations.
Akshat Siddhanta, chief quant analyst at investment platform Mudrex, said gold recovered to around $4,440 after hitting a one-month low. Silver also rose above its two-week low, aided by a weak US dollar.
