Gold Price Recovery Just Beginning, Jeff Currie Says

Gold prices have recovered strongly from their July lows, but remain well below their January record of $5,318.40 an ounce. According to Jeff Currie, futures closed at $4,380.40 on August 14, up 8.18% over two weeks.

The metal still has a long way to go to reach its previous peak, but Currie remains bullish on gold's prospects. He expects the price to eventually reach $10,000 an ounce, citing a gap in mining investment that will restrict future supply as commodity demand rises.

Years of weak mining investment have left producers struggling to expand supply quickly, which Currie argues is a key factor in his $10,000 forecast. The research also suggests that the current investment cycle is shifting toward physical assets, linking technology investment to commodity demand and adding weight to Currie's argument.
